Tap is an American theater dance form that gets its name from the tapping sound made by metal plates that are attached to the bottom of the dancers? shoes. This fun, lively intricate dance discipline at The Studio develops a sense of rhythm and promotes coordination and concentration through percussive foot work. Emphasis is placed on tap technique as well as style and presentation of the upper body while moving those fast feet! Ballet and Jazz are recommended (but not required) for Tap as they benefit tap dancers by strengthening their posture and musicality.
